Position Summary
Payzant is seeking an energetic and reliable Summer Promotions and Marketing Assistant whose primary focus will be the planning and execution of weekly Summer BBQ Events. This role will also support the Marketing Department with promotional initiatives and social media content creation. It is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with people, and contributing creatively to brand growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute weekly Summer BBQ Events, including preparing food and supplies, transporting equipment, working events, complete set up and tear down, safe operation of BBQ equipment, serving contractors and customers, and cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Assist with additional promotional and community events including sales promotions, holiday events, tournaments, and other initiatives, including working events, set-up, and tear-down.
• Support Payzant’s social media presence through content creation, photography and video capture, compiling and organizing an image asset library, and leveraging current trends to strengthen brand visibility.
• Represent Payzant Home Hardware professionally at off-site and in-store events while building positive relationships with customers and contractors.
• Monitor inventory and supplies and assist the Marketing Department with additional projects as required.

Qualifications

Schedule Requirements
This position is primarily Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required as needed.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers placing orders for building supplies via phone, email, or in person.

Accurately process incoming orders, ensuring all details are recorded correctly and promptly in the system.

Provide product information, pricing, and availability to customers, offering suitable alternatives when necessary.

Collaborate with the sales and warehouse teams to coordinate order fulfillment.

Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Maintain knowledge of the building supplies inventory, including product specifications and applications.

Offer product recommendations and suggest upselling opportunities to enhance the customer's shopping experience.

Prepare quotes for customers based on their specific requirements and follow up on pending quotes.

Assist with general administrative duties related to order processing and customer service.

Qualifications:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in compliance with laws and regulations, attend and complete all required health and safety training, report all accidents, and take every precaution reasonable to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.

• Inspect and load various products.

• Lift and manage heavy loads, repetitive in nature.

• Handle carrying drywall with the up most of care, without damaging or dropping it.

• Use proper lifting techniques and stretching to prevent injury due to repetitive lifting.

• Assesses delivery sites for potential hazards.

• Work alongside driver/boom truck drivers or other carriers in a two-person lift, maximum 160 lbs.

• Perform other duties as required.

      DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Assist customers in locating merchandising in store, or on homehardware.com.

·         Ensure customers are greeted promptly and asked appropriate questions.

·         Communicate product knowledge to the customer as appropriate.

·         Assist customers in locating and comparing merchandise.

·         Assist customers with finding all items needed to complete their project.

·         Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items where appropriate.

·         Record repeat customer requests for product and follow-up when product arrives at the store.

·         Follow procedures and maintain standards according to store policy in the following areas: loss prevention, receiving and pricing goods, merchandise handling and presentation, housekeeping, reordering merchandise, restocking shelves, handling cash, etc.

·         Advise the designated manager of shortages, damaged goods, back-orders etc.

·         Build special displays and signage for sales, promotions and other special events.

·         Keep stock in storage area neat, clean, and orderly.

·         Attend store meetings, training sessions, etc. as required.

·         Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management.

·         Work in a safe manner in accordance to provincial and federal safety legislation. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management in order to have the situation corrected.
